From the editor...
Sensor100
does seem to evolve, although possibly at a slower pace
than its editor would prefer. This Newsletter, which two years ago
was a one-page monotone email is now often 20 pages or more,
with images and colours. It reaches over 2000 people, in over 70
countries.
In March we held our first conference,
Sensors in Medicine 2013
,
which was well received, giving us the confidence to repeat it next
year. More on that will follow over the next several months.
In May there is another first for us - we are exhibiting at the
3rd In-
ternational Conference on Bio-SensingTechnology
in Sitges,
Spain. This conference is organised by our friends at the Institute
of Bio-Sensing Technology at the University of theWest of England,
and chaired by Professor Richard Luxton. We are looking forward to
meeting many of you who are already part of
Sensor100
, and bring-
ing new members into the network.
We will also have a video clip exhibited at Sensor+TEST in Germany
(14-16 May) by kind arrangement with Electronics Sensors and Pho-
tonics Knowledge Transfer Network. If you plan to be at the confer-
ence look out for them, and us.
It would be difficult not to conclude with a mention of the two
horrendous events in the US this past week, at the Boston mara-
thon and inWest,Texas. Our thoughts and good wishes are with all
whose lives were impacted.
Kind regards
Michael
