Sensor Technology Project

There are a considerable number of different sensor technologies in use, or various stages of development.

Sensor100 intends to form a collection of short descriptions of these different bio-sensor and chemo-sensor technologies to provide a reference source and to monitor developments in sensor technology.

Articles will first be published in the Sensor100 monthly eNewsletter. Eventually they will be made available in the form of an on-line eBook and possibly a printed version

Call for Papers

Sensor100 invites contributed articles on different sensor technologies. The articles should be short (200 - 400 words) and written in a style similar to a text book suitable for science undergraduates. As a guide, the content should include: background, explanation of the technology (how it works) and applications. One or more illustrations should be included and 1- 4 important references, but a comprehensive literature report is not necessary.

We will adopt a broad definition of technology, so any methodology which has application in bio-analysis, chemical analysis, medcial diagnosis etc. will be consisdered. Please contact us first with suggested ideas before writing the full article. Post-graduate students and post-docs are particularly encouraged to submit articles.

We are not looking for originality (see legal issues below) so descriptions of well established technology such as ISEs are as important as new, state of the art technologies. As a guide, major technology categories will include: electrochemistry, acosutics, optical, magnetic and others.

Legal Issues

Contributed articles must be in the public domain and not violate any existing confidentiality agreements or copyright law. Contributors need to be assured that any submitted material does not compromise grant or pending patent applications, or articles submitted to refereed journals. For new technology it may be appropriate to gain permission from the institution where the development originated.

Contributors will be identified as the author of the submitted article, with published contact email, affiliation, and a photo of the author.

Copyright of the submitted article will be owned by Sensor100.
