Page 3 Sensor Technology Foreword New sensor technology appears almost daily at an astonishing rate, published in a variety of journals. This explosive growth in technology, not all of it useful in the applied sense, it must be said, has prompted the launch of this publication. The intention is to provide in one place an authoritative collection of descriptions of sensors and their underlying technology. Authors are invited to submit short (2 - 4 pages) description of sensor technology. The description should include: • Origin of the technology • How it works • Applications, especially commercial applications • An illustrative diagram • References - limited to no more than 5. Authors submitting manuscripts do not have to be the inventor(s) of the technology, but must refer to the original inventor(s). Selection for publication will be at the editors discretion. Sensor100 will published the Directory on the internet as an eBook which can be downloaded in pdf format. Contributors to the Sensor Directory will receive a free one-year membership in the Sensor100 Membership Network. Michael Brand Editor
