Sensor100 June 2014
It is worrying to think that having passed the 21 June, the year is
already half over, and days will successively become shorter until the
winter solstice.
Enthusiastic readers of
Sensor100,
and I am sure there are some,
will detect a small change in emphasis in this issue. While keeping
some news items on healthcare, we have included much more than
usual about the Environment. Partly, perhaps solely, this is a blatant
plug for our next conference,
Sensors in the Environment 2014
,
which will be held on 15 - 16 October in the Great Hall, Imperial
College.
SiE14 will follow the format we have so successfully used for Sen-
sors in Medicine 2014, albeit at a different venue (we were unable to
book the Royal Geographic Society for SiE14). It will include invited
and contributed papers, poster displays, an exhibition, as well as our
hallmark networking reception.
After Medicine and Healthcare, Environmental monitoring is possibly
the next most important application of sensors. It deserves more at-
tention, and more research activity.
Kind regards
Michael
