From the editor...
Almost half way through the year - unbelievable how time flies. By
this time, we are well into the conference season; a good chunk of
this Newsletter is about coming events. We try to include them all,
but if we have missed one you are organising or will attend, please let
us know.

had a presence at two conferences this month:
Sensor+Test in Germany and the very successful Bio-Sensing Tech-
nology conference in Spain - see a full report inside.
One of the interesting and challenging aspects of writing this News-
letter is that news flow is far from even. This month you will see
a lot of technology and company news about some very exciting
innovations.
We have previously argued that Point-of-Care diagnostics will be the
Next Big Thing in sensor technology. Not necessarily separate enti-
ties, but wearable sensors and breath analysis both seem to gaining
innovation traction. Watch over the next several months to see if
those technologies take hold in the commercial world.
