Microwave synthesis‘zaps’graphene to perfection

Riken, Japan, has developed a simple procedure which turns bulk graphite crys-

tals into atomically thin super materials and magnetically aligned gels. By em-

ploying microwave radiation and a special ionic liquid solvent, RIKEN research-

ers have developed a quick, efficient and potentially scalable way to produce

large quantities of single-layer graphene.

Fitbit’s heart rate monitoring accuracy questioned
